Call for Papers: 2021 American Literature Association Annual Conference

The William Carlos Williams Society will sponsor two panels at the 2021 Annual Conference of the American Literature Association in Boston, Massachusetts. The dates of the conference are July 7–11.

William Carlos Williams: A New World Naked

A panel marking 40 years since the first appearance (1981) of Paul Mariani’s biography, William Carlos Williams: A New World Naked. We welcome presentations on reading the life and/or work in relation to Mariani’s contribution to our understanding of Williams.

Contemporary Approaches to William Carlos Williams

Discussions of current and contemporary approaches to William’s work including but not limited to the use of information systems in “reading” literary texts, medical humanities, and foundations of critical judgment.

Please send 250-word abstracts for either panel to Mark C. Long at mlong@keene.edu and Stephen Hahn at HahnS@wpunj.edu. The deadline for proposals is Friday, February 5th, 2021. The Society will also be conducting its annual business meeting at the conference. Information about the ALA 2021 conference is available at the web site of the American Literature Association.
